Job Description

As part of its development and growth, and for its ambitious upcoming productions, QUANTIC DREAM is expending its teams and is hiring a Lead VFX Artist to be responsible for leading the VFX art team, taking responsibility for visual quality benchmarks and create amazing in-game visuals effects.

As Lead VFX Artist you will work closely with the Art Director and Production staff to ensure that visuals effects are delivered in a timely manner and to a high level of quality. Strong communication and managment skills will be essential to balance these requirements. You must be flexible, highly motivated and detail conscious.

Skills & Requirements

  • +5 years of VFX team lead experience. Must have shipped at least one AAA title.
  • Strong technical proficiency in understanding proprietary tools and technology.
  • Proven excellent leadership skills. Able to communicate effectively verbally and visually.
  • Strong understanding of real-time VFX technics and pipeline.
  • Able to hit established technical & quality visuals effects benchmarks without supervision.
  • Must be able to work closely with engineers, designer and animators to create stunning VFX.
  • Alongside the VFX Lead and engine programmers, build future tools and improve pipelines and graphic potential.
  • Able to maintain a balance between visual quality and performance requirements for AAA real-time games.
  • Work with Art Direction to create and keep artistic style & mood consistent with defined visual style for the games.
  • Ability to source & highlight examples of inspirational work that pushes technical and aesthetic quality.
  • Able to mentor team members and provide concise art feedback.
  • Positive attitude and a desire to bring new ideas to the team.

FRENCH IS (NOT) A MUST for this position, you will be working in an international environment. 

Technical Requirements :

  • Excellent knowledge of any real time 3D engine & PBR shaders.
  • Excellent knowledge of Maya, Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of CG Software (FumeFX, Realflow, Houdini…).
  • Expert with particle and fluid systems as well as geometry based VFX and real-time physics system.
  • Strong knowledge in scripting (Python/Mel).
